Will ran the Acorns Half Marathon again for Acorns
Children’s Hospice in July 2007. The course ended up
being shortened to 11.7 miles due to the flooding in Upton – not
the big floods in Worcestershire in late July, but the smaller
ones in early July!
A big thank you to everyone who supported Will in his London Marathon
run in April 2007. With your support we raised just short
of £2500 for Mind, the mental health charity. An amazing
experience from the start of the training to the end of the event
itself.
We donated funds to support the new education centre at the Birmingham
Buddhist Vihara in Ladywood Birmingham in May 07.
Will ran the Acorns Half Marathon for Acorns Children’s
Hospice in May 2006. Many thanks for your support in raising
funds for this worthy cause
We supported Rotary International in June 2006 through Gavin’s
Ironman Challenge. Despite immense commitment to the training
and a brilliant swim, he was thwarted by a faulty inner tube on
his bike and had to withdraw from the race. Undeterred he
ran the 26.2 mile marathon phase home and completed the cycle distance
the next day on his own! Well done, resilience and determination
in action.
Our new adopted charity

We are delighted to be supporting The Manisha Child Welfare Fund, Nepal (MCWFN). Funds raised in 2007 have gone to support improved communications within the region for the various school-building and development projects. We are very excited to announce that in January 2008 we will be supporting the charity to employ two new teachers and expect to introduce Vision for Learning website visitors to the teachers and their schools in the spring. MCWFN is a small independent charity headed up by former Ghurka, Mahendra Shakya. They are doing amazing work improving the lives of children in Nepal and creating educational infrastructure. We a re delighted to be working with them and would encourage anyone who can feel able to support the charity to visit their website and make a donation through Paypal. www.mcwfn.org
